I've just read the post match reaction & I notice that Simon Davey said that the fact that we've kept clean sheets in the last 2 games is a positive but the fact that we've failed to score in the last 2 is a negative. Whilst I don't disagree with that, what I think he's possibly glossing over is that our failure to score spans more than 2 games. We've failed to score in 5 out of the last 6 league games. Do we practice shooting in training or just running around a lot?
I can see where you are getting confused mate Simon Davey thinks that Odejayi is a a rough diamond, we know he will never be anything other than someone that runs about quickly, but I think that Davey is trying to get all the team to be sprinters and fill the Olympic team. Shooting what is that, but I must admit that iot is hard to get a shot when you dont get the ball in a shooting position.
I'm just wondering What it is that he does in training that warrants at least a place on the bench, that doesn't quite make it onto the pitch in a first team game? As I said in a previous post, as a battering ram, he's great. As for his shooting, he could have had 6 shots at John Lennon & he'd still be alive today! I'm not just basing that on today, which was a poor game, played between 2 poor teams in poor conditions, but on every home game that I've seen this season.
Odejayi will never become a striker while he has a hole in his arse. I have more chance of being the next england Keeper and I stopped playing 10 years ago, because I tore my ligaments, maybe I should have carried on and completed the match, it could not have got any worse apparently. If Christensen looks worse than OJ in training , then we have a BIG problem. Odejayi would struggle to get in a decent Sunday Pub side. There are a lot of players out on the parks tomorrow that can do a better job as a midfielder than Hassell, I think Bobby is a good defender tho`.
