Following on from the pre season thread .... I just wonder if a partnership with an overseas team could be beneficial (to all clubs). Someone mentioned Royal Antwerp.... Someone mentioned Polish teams ... let's say Widsew Lodz. Without having to do much, BFC could generate a really good partnerships between the clubs. This could, in time, be replicated overseas in say Australia, USA, Canada, etc. The club could build the partnerships over a number of years, with Junior Players perhaps doing "exchanges" or even tournaments for junior teams. Ultimately we could see senior players move between the clubs, where there was a benefit to both parties. The benefit for BFC is to widen it's level of interest, into other countries. Imagine we have an annual tournament that involves say Royal Antwerp and Widzew Lodz, rotating the host venue each year. That's pre season taken care of, plus we are forming relationships with other clubs and their fans. Forming a relationship with a Polish side would be a good idea in view of the number of Polish people in Barnsley. Royal Antwerp already has a number of BFC fans apparently - we should really develop it. The possibilities are endless. Absolutely nothing to lose in forming alliances with fans and clubs from other countries. The marketing possibilities are good. Thoughts?
