Official: Yorkshire the worst county for binge drinking

    and according to Calendar last night Barnsley is the worst in Yorkshire... now it as been advertised on the tv that we have stupid drink prices compared to other places are more people going to be piling into Barnsley on a night out, because illatly i have noticed hell of a lot more people coming on a night out

    I blame the council for permitting so many places to be opened up as clubs and pubs.

    i blame the council for allowing all these watering holes....................if they redeveloped the town properly we shouldnt have had so many pubs!

    how can they stop it? if they have bought the land they cant stop it can they?

    Yes they can. You need to have a licence to open up a "drinking establishment"

    The council can deny them this licence.

    now there open though.. can they actually close them down because there is too many?

    dont know how long the licence lasts......that might be the problem, i do know that the licensing laws were changed in the last few years

    tbh in a way it doesnt bother me about how many bars they are at the moment theres only a few i havent been in oxygen is the only 1 tbh and by the sounds of what happens in there i dont want to but they bring a lot of people here and cause bother but then were would all us lot go on a night out instead of the local or before the match?
