"Charlton are set to miss out on Barnsley striker Chris O'Grady as they cant agree on the strikers wage demands" From Twitter, this better be real
Thought the wages were agreed, seems that Charlton want to pay by installments and not cash up front!

So we could be lumbered with a striker who is too slow - even for League One - and whose contract will prohibit us from being able to afford replacements for other weak positions. Yet again....... thanks Hillcroft. You shafted us royally!
You do know he scored fifteen goals last season for one of the worst teams the championship has ever seen?
With a bit more luck, we could have stayed up. Would we still be one of the worst teams the championship has ever seen? What would that have made those below us? And what does that make Yeovil?
Yeovil just as bad if not worse than us,we wouldn't have stayed up with that squad if we were still playing now,no two ways about it.
I wish they would. Indulge me though - how many teams have been worse than us in the last ten years or so?
Bit more luck? We were six points from safety and had the joint worst goal difference in the football league.
we were rubbish last season O'Grady is going next season is a new challenge & we have some great youth players bring it on
We were awful last year, and when we were any good it was rarely for more than 45 minutes. One of the worst seasons in my memory.
The worst season at second tier level in my lifetime. I enjoyed more games/players in 2001-02. Seriously.
Given that we have enjoyed 35 years of almost uninterrupted 'success' historically speaking and taking the 4-0 home defeat by Wigan as the benchmark on the first day of the season. I have to say for lack of hope and demoralising feelings last season was the worst I've ever seen. In my mind we got relegated when we failed to beat Yeovil at home and after that despite a small fillip of Danny's return nothing really improved. With a few notable exceptions we played without passion, desire, skill or much commitment. In my time I've seen us lack 1, 2 or even 3 of the above but not all 4. Something rotten has got into the soul of the club. I don't know if it was relegation fatigue or the negativity that Hill spread around but it needs to be gotten rid of again. Both fans and players need to enjoy being at Oakwell again. Enjoy watching us play and want to be there. I have no illusions about next season I don't expect us to seriously challenge for promotion but I do want all this negative **** and backbiting washed away. We have a clean slate. We have an experienced manager adept at bringing younger players into professional football and improving them. I hope we grasp the opportunities this presents. At the same time off the pitch improvements in both the infrastructure at Oakwell and relationships between fans and club need to be worked on. We are Barnsley. A small family orientated club. We need to get our roots back into the community. We need to re engage before it's too late. Onwards and Upwards. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
