Now I'm going to admit straight away, the amount I know about tactics equals zero, and I don't know the best way to get across what I'm trying to say either. I presume it's because of how/where he's told to play, or the fact that our midfielders are diabolical, but he doesn't seem to play like a normal striker to me. He always seems to be a long way back, getting involved in the midfield action. Maybe it's just the being a lone striker-ness, but he seems to try and hold up the ball and pass it to someone else (who's never there), rather than the others doing that for him. He's clearly very strong, and isn't afraid to get involved, it's just when he does, there's no-one there for him to give it to. He beat his man to a header a few times today, but there was no-one to receive it in a red shirt and I started to wonder why he even bothered jumping for it. Is there a way we could play him in a different position and play two (or one) out and out striker(s) as well? Or is the obvious answer that we need to keep him upfront, and find someone else who can create chances for him.

I apologise for my sheer lack of footballing knowledge, I have no idea how I can have supported a team for this long, and still know nowt.

For someone who claims to know nowt I think that's spot on. He's playing on his own with a static midfield who can't get near enough to him to pick up scraps from headers etc. Last season he played well with Dagnall who, whilst not the best, at least was close enough to him to pick up things from him. I'm not sure he's fully fit at the moment but he's proved himself to be a better player than recent performances show.

We need points, and to get points we need goals. Play 2 up front, and tell Chris to stop playing on the left wing. Pick Paddy, play 3-5-2 and go **** or bust. There you are, I know nowt about tactics too.

They tried to get the central midfielders in and around him today and it worked to a certain extent first half, but we are talking about Perkins and mellis here, one off which who has a nose bleed when he gets in the box and the other who doesn't have the energy to do it on a regular basis.

You seem more tactically aware than our fullbacks.
