    Drumming - it's just hitting things with sticks. How difficult can that be? Now playing the triangle, on the other hand, now there's an art form.

    far more skill than a guitarist

    But a guitarist has to play notes. Drum solos sound like someone falling downstairs carrying lots of pots and pans.

    No mate, can't stand him. Good guitarist, but doesn't do anything for me. Don't like solos of any kind, to be honest. It's only showing off to other musicians, as they're the only ones who can truly appreciate how difficult/intricate/complex something is. The rest of us just want them to get on with the songs...

    Went to see Gil Scott Heron about 15 years ago at the Irish Centre in Leeds. The bass player did a 15 minute solo. I found out recently that Gil had gone missing during the gig and had gone up Chapeltown to score some smack.
