The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.” Came to a leaving do in a foreign country with a load of fans of a club who’s just sacked him, you can understand if he wanted to avoid the occasion and just get back home to his family. That’s just not Daniel Stendel though is it? He came, put his arm around those looking for it and he had time for anyone and everyone. At the end of it all for me he was asked by a fan if he would come back to Barnsley and he said “hopefully one day” After the way the board have treated him I truly hope last night illustrates how polar opposite the feeling is from the fans, we fell into a barrel of snakes when we dropped into league one and came out with a snake suit all thanks to Daniel Stendel. We’ll end up with a man who never leaves the dugout, rarely shows emotion and never shows his face in the local community. But at least he’ll know not to pester the board for experience. At least the fans never stopped supporting you mate, good luck.
