I'm not a 'morning' person. In fact, I can't do joined up writing until 11 o'clock, and then only after 2 coffees.

Every time the clocks adjust we get this same old argument

"This would put the UK two hours ahead of Greenwich Meantime- and bring us into line with the rest of Europe." - We are where we are on the planet....being in line with Italy and the Czech Republic makes absolutely no sense. And if we truely wanted to be in line we'd still have to adjust the time twice a year as they do as well!

Just because France and Spain want to be in the wrong timezone is no reason for us to be!

And, as I said, it would not prevent adjusting the time twice a year.

Personally, I don't see what's wrong with putting the clocks forward half an hour this Sunday & then STOP MESSING AROUND WITH THE DAMN THINGS!

Split the difference then everyone's happy.

out of interest what is the correct time for us?

is it the clocks forward an hour or back an hour? if that makes sense.

I think I know what you mean - it's what we are on at the moment I guess as that is GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)
