    As England captain? don't seem to make sense to me....Should have been Beckham imo, only world class player we possess, **** Ferdinand....

    Only for 1 game to start with. Capello has decided to let a few have a go before he decides on a permanent one. Will decide before the next competitive game.

    Hed have been aswell as trying Owen, saying that though hes **** aswell, Gerrard hes the one, nobody else apart from him and Becks commands the respect of the other Players like those two imo....

    Gerrard would be the best choice of permant captain for me. Dont like Rio Ferdinand Probably the best Centre Half we have but He just strikes me as a big chav

    I think your captain has to be somebody who is certain of a place in the team.

    Agree about Gerrard. He will probably be the choice. Beckham has been a great captain. But he gave it up. And I don't think he will play regular enough to be considered. Glad to see him in the squad though. Would like to see him start. David James might be another option. Looks like he is the no.1

    And James who are both better captain material in my uneducated opinion

    (Rooney is also a cetain starter but definitely not a potential captain)

    james is only certain to start because of lack of options. i think foster will be first choice in the not too distant future

    Gerrard I would agree on, though isnt he in competion with fat frank for 1 place?

    Mmm David James! never considered him, but yes I'd go along with that opinion, he can see all in front of him it so it makes sense, plus he seems a level headed sort of guy and he also seems a very respectful sort a guy....
