Nothing wrong with that signing it will do... but, Surely the main priororeties (spelling)
Are elsewhere say midfield or defence or up front... so basically everywhere, 1 full back a centre half, midfielder, winger.. and a striker... Goalkeeper signing should be the last thing we should look at.

You serious???
Keeper is one of the areas we needed to capture a new signing in! Colgan becoming too 'set in his ways' recent. Few errors recent (and yes I realise he's kept us in games at times) but look at QPR goal, Wednesday 1st goal and his lack of vocals during game.
GOOD SIGNING

Yes is a good signing but... there is nothing wrong with Colgan, can be abit vunreable at times... , it is an important signing yes because Letheran will probably be useless, but we need outfield players fast.
Good signing. Can't see him being chucked straight into the team but hopefully he will push Colgan for a bit of competition.
I agree mate ...... we need a new keeper ..... Colgan is one of those keepers who will make 3 or 4 brilliant point blank saves in a game but also drops too many clangers that cost us the game, or change the game in the oppositions favour. QPR was a good example of that. Also he stays on his line so much that he puts the rest of the defence under too much pressure. Look at Crossley against us, he came for everything and caught it without breaking sweat and also made a crucial save from Nardiello, the only real thing he had to do .... but dropped NO clangers. Colgans got to go for me, so I say thanks for the penalty saves mate, especially the one at Cardiff, but as if to emphasise my point, if you hadn't cocked up big time during the game, it might never have got to that stage.
There is plenty wrong with Colgan.... Can't kick 75% of time, stays on his line, hardly talks to his back line, drops some real clangers.
Against Wednesday I couldn't help but notice how much Crossley spoke to his back line even when the ball was deep in the Reds half. Came for all crosses, and claimed them!

I'd like to see him start on Saturday What is it with Colgan - do they feel some enormous debt of gratitude for saving that penalty at Cardiff and can't bear to drop him.
RE: I'd like to see him start on Saturday If Colgan commanded his area and actually talked to his defenders for most of the game the no doubt his game would improve!
I agree Colgan's a first class shot stopper but his overall game is weak - standing on his line, not going for crosses, not commanding the back line etc etc Plus his disposition to make one really ***** error every match means he isn't exactly ideal. Sure we all love him making saves and he does keep us in matches, but I also think that his style of play causes more problems than it cures.
Good News at last. Classic move that good managers make. Start at the back and get the keeper situation sorted. I hope he then works his way through defence, midfield and onto the strikers.
I think it's a good signing he'll not be on mega bucks and he's only here for a month anyway. I think he'll just provide a bit of competition for Colgan which means that Colgan will up his game because he's got to compete with more than Letheren. Also, Lucas is a decent keeper with a bigger frame than Colgan meaning he will be able to claim more crosses etc. even if he's not as agile. That's what we need though, someone who can cope comfortably with the bread and butter of goalkeeping, not being inconsistent while pulling off the occasional spectacular save.
RE: I think it's a good signing Is there any signficance in the fact that the announcement makes the point that he's eligble for Saturday?
cant kick? colgans kicking is excellent with both feet he has his faults but that aint one of them. cant kick see kevin miller, tony bullock, lars leese
I agree Low risk signing, on a month to month contract. Tried and tested at this level and potentially a very good keeper if injury-free. First bit of positive news in a while, although its been floating around for a while so can't be credited as an impact of Davey's appointment.
