the board are doing things on the cheap ? I agree but maybe it is because fans are staying away. It works both ways because it's unfair to tell the board to put money in, if you cannot be bothered yourself to pay to watch an home match.
thats why they have to sell the club to the fans, like the wednesday match that was the ideal chance to get somemore supports back t'well - failed miserably
yeah and how many of the extra "Bfc" fans that came will be returning based on that performance take away the 7,500 that came from Washday and only about 14,000 bfc fans attended. Not that impressive really
14000 Reds fans is a good turn out. Don't forget the year we went up under Wilson gates were mainly around the 7500 mark for a lot of the season. Barnsley isn't that big a place. If they want the crowds then the old saying about speculating to accumulate springs to mind again.
Barnsley - similar size to say Reading often been in the same league with similar gates, just a thought
It's a vicious circle if the team play crap, people won't pay to watch them, and if people don't pay to watch them, the team cannot be improved. It's clear that the board aren't going to take a bit of a risk and break this circle by investing some decent money so the fans have got to make the first step. I've got my season ticket but if you haven't they're doing half season ones at the moment, or just make the extra effort to attend a match you normally wouldn't. it's the only way the club's going to get anywhere.
