Just finished watching Chelsea vs West Ham. Result irrelevant but at the end we get a prime example of something that always happens and bugs me as to why "the authorities" don't act. Out of 3 min 16 s of added on time at the end of the match the ball was in play for only 61 s. Don't know what the normal ratio is but I do know that this isn't unusual.
I'm indifferent The rule with the added time board is that the amount shown is a minimum. Subs are fine as long as the ref adds the time on like he should.
Don't mind subs coming on Today over two minutes was "wasted" with the ball not in play by Chelsea (in the lead!) taking a free-kick, a corner and a throw-in. During the same period West Ham (losing!) took a free-kick and three throw-ins "wasting" 14 seconds. I'm not blaming Chelsea for doing that but surely someone ought to be able to get refs to add on the right amount of time to stop it from happening?
RE: Don't mind subs coming on How often do you see that the ball in play for a game is less than 60 mins? Quite often. Change it to be 30 minute halves but have the clock stopping when ball is out of play.
...and ad breaks at every opportunity. I know what, let's change the whole lot and have two teams of offense and defense.
