    A) who do we want to come in and save the season
    B) will it actually make a difference given that it appears to be Sormaz and the Board that are the problem according to the BBS.

I’m not sure it’s a bad thing to let the season slide mate. Say we get another manager in and win a few, the owners might see it as a success of sorts and carry on in the same fashion.

Perhaps an unquestionable disaster of a season is what’s required to force change?

This season is done now. There’s no one that can come in and change things now. Much like the transfer window that opportunities now passed us by.

It won't make any difference, those at the top need to go, the club needs to go in a different direction.

So if we sack Clarke tomorrow we still have poor defenders and terrible strikers

If I was to choose someone to come in then I'd take a look at Paul Warne, a league one promotion specialist. By all accounts his teams don't play the most entertaining football but his record at this level is excellent. I just think he'd look at this job and laugh his head off.

Don't sack Clarke, wrong guy, sack Sormaz. He's a disaster.

Can see the logic in this, I'm also torn though in getting a manager in to assess the squad ahead of next season, I'd like Ryan Lowe in, problem with both my suggestions is would he entertain us ? Probably not, would he entertain us under the current way we operate ? Almost certainly not.
A change in approach is, if not more important than changing the head coach.
Just have a feeling they'll hang on until Early Bird and then play the sack Clarke card giving it to Hourihane then go foreign yes man in the summer.
They won't put their hands up and say we got it wrong, it will be more of the same

The season is beyond saving. Bringing a new Head Coach in now would give him a chance to assess the squad, and recruitment needs, for next season.

In reality it would likely be Devaney and Hourihane in a caretaker role to the end of the season anyway. I've reached the point now of thinking that would actually be an improvement of some sort, albeit one that delivers a bit of stability, rather than a turnaround of results.

Clarke is as out of his depth now as Collins was when he lost his job last season, and results have taken a similar death spiral. He's not the sum total of the problem, but his capabilities in the role are certainly a part of it.

Has to be Warne for me.

My only reservation about sacking Clarke is that it's this lot in charge of hiring the next one. But I don't think Clarke will ever be good enough so gotta take the risk.

We can't get much worse for me. What have we got? 1 point from a possible 21? I could come in and get a better tune out of the side than that, and I coach U11's FGS!

    Clear the decks now.

    Sormaz - sack him
    Flatman - sack him
    Clarke - sack him
Devaney - coach the kids again

Then board, openly saying that you're actively looking to sell the Club. Admit that it's been a disaster and you're not willing/able to run the Club and ultimately fund the Club to the required standard.

No hard feelings, just all of them out. They've tried, it hasn't worked. The Club is only going one way, whatever people's views on the minutia, we can at least all agree that their tenure has brought about nothing but a steady decline of everything associated with the football Club, from the ground itself, to the atmosphere, to the match day experience and pricing structure, to the most important thing, the playing side.

    Just go.

It’s probably done with respect to the playoffs, but we haven’t reached safety yet

Clarke shouldn’t be sacked. He’s been done over with recruitment. How I feel after Rotherham and Northampton though may be totally different as in my mind, he’s on thin ice. If push comes to shove, give Harban it (yes avoid the first team staff) until the end of the season and go from there.

Can you see warne working under these conditions? Personally I can't, he was very hands on at Rotherham pretty running the show, couldn't see in any shape him having someone above him saying, this is how we'd like to play etc
It's getting harder and harder to recruit head coaches for this reason, the pool of quality we can attract is tiny

I’ve said it for the last couple of appointments but I’d still like to see Bo Svensson at the club.

Not sure, that's the only concern. Not sure he'd get the gig as he'd want more control but that aside he's the perfect candidate.

Not sure what the set up is like at Derby though. But he clearly doesn't mind working at basket case clubs or clubs with limited resources so there's hope.

So we are saying that a different coach can get better out of the players?

Just had a quick look at Derby's structure and it looks like they don't operate with any sporting or director of football roles, it's a huge stumbling block
