When do we offer Flicker a long term deal? Now, or stick to the plan and review end of season? Seriously, how long before other Clubs come sniffing??
I think the club might be forced into action here, especially if we win our next two games. He has to be offered a long term deal, the problem is they won't be certain which division they'll be in. Even if we go down I'd still want flicker, the way he's conducted himself and spoken since he got the job speaks volumes, never mind the fact that he's won seven out of the last eight to boot. But I think, quite rightly, that there will be no contract negotiations until the season is settled. Neither the club nor flicker will want the distraction. I'd hope rowing or cryne might have a quiet word though - something like, 'we'll not get the agents in yet Dave, you're a bit busy. But we love the job your doing, and there's a three year contract with your name on it as soon as the seasons settled. If we stay up we'll even offer a salary'.
sign of intent though don't you think? to be honest i'm not too worried about it. sounds like he has an excellent relationship with pat cryne, so i'm sure they've discussed stuff that needs discussing...can also guarantee that if the worst was to happen and he got poached, it would all be The Don's fault for not giving him a long-term contract i'm sure i'm worrying about nowt..
