why has it taken until the last chuffing few matches for him to suddenly discover his hidden talents?? Where have we gone wrong in the past? Was it his fitness? Lack of confidence? Why has he been unable to play like this before now? I'm confused.
a change in attitude and for the the better,i think the penney has finally dropped with nardi in that if he works hard during games he will stay in the team and bag plenty of goals, the talent has always been there butthe effort hasnt, thatswhyin my opinion,he has never been consistant.more effort=more succes.i didnt think i would be saying this as i have been massive critic of nardis in the past, but i would give him another contract.

I think Davey should reap some credit for this. For me, the Nardiello of old had three big problems - his workrate wasn't always acceptable, he was selfish and never looked up and he was offside too frequently Firstly, it has been reported that he read the riot act to Nardiello regarding effort and commitment expected. Secondly he has found a way to play him to his strengths. Instead of leading the line like he used to - forever playing on the shoulder of the last defender - he is coming from a bit deeper. It is left to Ferenczi to hold the offside line. By playing that bit deeper, I think it has not only reduced his offside tendencies but also I think he has more spatial awareness and reads the game better for not always being the furthest man forward. He has more idea where other players are and so makes the correct decisions more often. Also, fitness is a big thing - he looked a bit portly after the collarbone thing. I think he's got his weight down and his cardio-respiratory fitness up, such that he can chase players down for 90 minutes (well, 80 anyway ) If we can keep him and Ferenczi for next year I think we may be onto something. I'm still not convinced of his fitness in terms of resistance to injury so quality cover will be required but we're starting to look like a team who can compete in this league.
Cos I gave him a pep talk a few weeks ago via email after the Ipswich result I explained how the team should be more positive and stop thinking the opposition were supermen we should be scared of. I also told him that we needed to start imposing our game instead of letting the other team play the way they want and that if all we had was one crap chance per game we were unlikely to score many and that he should shoot more and the team as a whole shouldnt be scared to try things not shown in a bloody dossier. I also told him to get the boys together and tell them to use the crowd and involve us and that barnsley fans would always back players who showed effort and hard work. Does this mean that the upturn in form is down to me and that I am a better man manager than Davey and should be getting a hundred grand a year or what. BT
Its all been foreplay cazi '' But hes a cumming good now though . Folk cant knock a bloke for delaying things .... I say keep it up Nardiello.... (nodding2fingers) ....Lets wait for his finale.... (dancin)
Davey Simon Davey was saying in his interview on Oakwell AM that he had given Nards more defensive responsibilities and that he was asking him to play in a slightly different position
Well, if you remember his blistering performance... ... away at Leeds, that was in December, before the halfway point of the season, not exactly late on.
I think Nads has tended to suffer by being pushed down the pecking order whenever new strikers come in, especially if he hasn't scored for a few games. Then, all he gets is 20 minutes here or ten minutes there. It's hardly a pattern onwhich to build a strong goalscoring ability. I reckon the same was happenning this season until one very significant thing happened - Raczyc appeared to lose his form fairly quickly, giving him the opportunity to show what he can do. And the lad has delivered.

Solution - Loan him out..... ...... for the first 3/4 of the season and bring him back when he can be useful
RE: Well, if you remember his blistering performance... Funnily enough, that's what my other half said this afternoon when I asked him the same question. He basically believes that he really needed to play games to get the confidence.
