It to be how it happened re the Coventry debacle, which seemed to force Danny's hand and start the clearout.
Or, we win the Coventry game get a plum draw at Arsenal with all the financial package, but you had to keep all the players released?

I dont think losing to coventry forced his hand, I think he was always going to make changes as soon as the busy period ended and it's just a coincidence that coventry happened then

Survival is far more important than a day out in London in fact its more important than winning the cup.

Agree with Supertyke. I think the clear out was inevitable regardless of the Coventry result. The story I heard was that Danny came in and morale was at rock bottom (to be expected) It would have taken a couple of weeks of training for Danny to get to grips with the squad he had. In my opinion a combination of not being good enough and loyalty to the old regime resulted in the players being moved on.

One thing that was noticeable on Saturday was the style of play was different. Wilson is starting to put his stamp on things. I'm not confident that will be enough to keep us up but I am confident that we're now in safe hands.

An expensive day at Arsenal watching us get thrashed Ethiad style is not something i'd take over three points against Blackpool and the clearout of deadwood.

Is it chuff. I'd take winning the Cup any day over finishing 20th in this Division.
Winning the FA Cup will be in the history books for ever, staying up this season won't be and it's only a matter of time before we get relegated anyway.
It's all hypothetical but given the choice FA Cup winner every time.

What if relegation resigns us to a future in the ale house leagues? Survival every time for me, the cups are a sideshow.

He said a day out vs Arsenal though, not actually winning the cup, on that basis I'd take it as we are.

Not a chance, staying in this league is far more important than winning the cup IMO. The cup is a nice distraction (if you do well) but league survival is the primary objective for the club.

I would take winning the FA Cup all year long, we big up Championship like its best thing since sliced..still just a league of empty stadiums and half arsed atmospheres from teams who think they're too "premier league" (bolton, derby, leicester, boro...insert any new build stadium team here)

He said that survival was more important than winning the Cup.
I'd take winning the Cup every day of the week, the Championshiop is **** and there's no atmosphere - just as much an ale-house league as any other. Apart from the fling with the Premier League, I think of all the best days out I've had were mostly Cup days or promotion days from the 4th & 3rd Division. The days under Clarkey in the 4thd Div and Hunter in the 3rd were miles better than the crap we see now. Most fans go down out of habit, very few games are entertaining and the bulk of matches are downright boring. We'd be a big fish in a small pond in the lower leagues and would definitely flirt with promotion again. As I said, hypothetical question i.e. pointless but get your name on a trophy every time. Look in the record books and it says we won the Division 3 (North) 3 times and the FA Cup once, be great to add to that. Baffles me why anyone would want to consistently finish in the bottom 6 every single season. It ain't that good.
