Has anyone been latley on the train? Want some advice about which way is best to do it and time scales etc.

When I went in 1998 I got the train from Hull-Manc Piccadilly, then I think I got a tram/metro thing. Can't remember how far the tram station was from piccadilly though, and how long the journey took. I'm just thinking about how much time to allow after a game to get back to Piccadilly as I'm going on Saturday to the rugby grand final.

I should be out the ground for 8-8.15 betime the game is over/trophy is lifted/got out etc. Then the train back from Manc-Hull leaves at 9.09, will i have enough time? I might come out the ground once it's finished to beat the rush though!

been a regular at the grand final over the last 6 years.. basically you've got to get out early if you want to beat the rush, sometimes if you want to get the train back to manc city center after the game go the wrong way one stop and then come back past old trafford as if the station/train is rammed to police wont even let the train stop , the tram is ok but again very very busy and you neen to be prepared to almost fight your way onto it! we've walked back a couple of time but usually stopping off at watering holes on the way, oh FC got there 4 years ago now too !! :D

Return ticket from Piccadilly on the train which drops you at the stadium, no brainer. Which train are you getting as I may jump on when it comes through Leeds assuming I get tickets.
