    Just as a little add-on to your footballing in the Army story of yesterday:

    When I played football in the Army (many moons ago)it was decreed by the MOD that even on the soccer pitch, officers and seior NCO's above the rank of WO2 should referred to as "Sir".
    What the MOD didnt realise was that this identified them to the opposing teams and the poor sods were getting chunks kicked out of them every match.
    Needless to say, the idea was soon dropped.
