Worth a punt? Apparently an unnamed league 2 side have had a bid of 150k turned down by York. Pearce has 31 goals this season but he is 29. I wouldn't be against giving him a 2 year deal.
Not for me. Andy Dallas was 5 years younger with a good goal record in that league and look how that turned out. We need to be adding quality to our squad not lower league gambles to add to an already inflated squad.
The likelihood is, if they've already turned down a £150k bid for him, they're wanting more than a quarter, if not half a million for him. It's going to be a huge chunk of our transfer budget. It's a big gamble on a 29 year old with no league experience. He scored fewer goals than Paul Mullin did at that level for example, who's struggled in league 1 and isn't much older. Had it been a free transfer, I'd have said it's worth a punt, like Andy Dallas was. Not for a significant fee though. There's surely more suitable players out there.
