Having shrugged off the last bit of optimism today, and accepted what’s probably been a fact for quite a while now: It is time for league one again. Eight years ago I was there at Cardiff, celebrating promotion. A fantastic day that I will never forget. That day will come back again. We’re down, but in a totally different way than last time. 2002: Steve Parkin in charge, after taking over from Nigel Spackman (now if there ever was … ) The ITV-deal soon to collapse, then administration. I was there when we had bucket collections. A rather sad looking, old Jaguar being first price. Peter Doyle and his never ending “the bulldozers will be next” Now that was hard times! Times when I feared that more than a hundred years as a proud football club could come to an end. Thankfully , it didn’t happen. We’re down again now. It’s sad and for a lot of people it will feel like a failure. But it is nothing like last time! The club is well run. With an owner who has made a remarkable difference. No debt, great facilities, masters in our own house. Barnsley Football Club is in great shape, no matter what is happening right now. Time for league one again. It might take a season or two - or four or five. But we will be back again. And what a fantastic day that will be!

Masters in our own house? No we aren't. BFC can't compete because it doesn't believe it can for starters.
