If Brum lose tomorrow, and we win against Forest on Monday - that’ll be 4 points from the Easter fixtures. By anyone’s standard, that’s decent. Brum are more than capable of getting tonked tomorrow, and we are more than capable of beating Forest. We just need the stars to align....
On the other hand we've just gifted Birmingham and Burton another massive boost and Brum's incentive is there now to win and move above us. We're not capable (or more worryingly we're not even bothered) of winning games even when we've dominated them.
There are a lot of big "IF" statements. Usually an if has a bunch of outcomes. The way this season going, I have little in the way of optimism. Ready for a L1 campaign next season. We have a decent L1 team.
Every "if" so far has turned out negative for us. Sadly I dont see that changing at this late stage. And sad to say nearly all those negatives have been self-inflicted, shooting ourselves in the foot over and over again.
Can’t disagree with that to be fair. My main point is, IF we did win at Forest, then actually a 4-point haul over the Easter period is decent. Despite the fact we should have won yesterday. I am more optimistic than others, but only because the 3 teams below us are actually gash, and don’t even look like winning most games. Whereas we tend to competitive in most of ours, despite maybe a loss. Sunderland yesterday was bizarre - can only hope it was a blip.
Don't say that dredded word John Think like I've always done through thick & thin I'v the Faith and always have. I'v supported the Reds through some bad times and good times I've watched so many different players play for us and obviously we'v had so many managers in the past from the old 4th Division through to the promise land. I've supported Barnsley Football club All my life and never once have I given up hope on them getting us out of trouble and I never will John 58 year's a RED
Longer than me. 74 my first season. Will always be a Barnsley fan. This season not a good one though.
I bet we'v both got our own stories hey John I know I've got some. Can you Remember any of these players. David Speedy. Went on to play for both Everton & Liverpool. Craig Hignett Ronny wirlwind Glavin. Dave Watson. Is now the England goal keeping coach. Mick Macathy. Obviously he's Ipswich manager. The only guy to get us into the promise land it has to be. Danny Wilson. To name but a few
The table says we're now one of the 3 gashest (is that a word?) teams in the league. Our eyes and hearts tell us we've been competitive but unlucky - but the table tells us we're ***** and going down.
Aye I'm in season 58 an all. 21 years of lower league dross before even a sniff of this current level. I guess I can take one more
Yeah - we need to win Monday to keep it in our hands. If we don’t, we’re going to have to rely on others. Important game Forest - it’s away so we have a slight better chance of winning lol.
