Barnsley 7 Huddersfield 1. Not seen this for a while and it was nice reliving it. How we only got SIX in that first half is incredible - Sean McClare of all people missed a couple of good chances and their keeper got lucky a couple of times. 10 or 11-0 at half time would not have been undeserved. Inspired debut from Craig Hignett - the kind of player we can only dream about now. Fabulous centre forward play from both Ashley Ward and Bruce Dyer. And THAT goal from Darren Barnard!!!! Still can't believe it even though I have seen it a hundred times or more. So many really good chances to get into double figures and rack up one of those freak scorelines from the 1930s or 1940s. Oh, and it was on Sky as well. So that's two top performances on there in living memory. Can't have been many more. This was the season after relegation from the Premier League and the quality was still there. If only we could have got straight back up but, of course, John Hendrie was in charge by then. Great player though he undoubtedly was, he was never going to make a successful manager.
