There's a repeat of the Bottom episode Gas in tribute to Rik Mayall. IMHO it's the best half hour that Rik and Ade Edmondson ever did. If you don't like the pair of them, this won't turn you on to 'em. If you do, it's sensational. We watched it every night for a month after if it was first broadcast. Gerrit watched.

For sure Bottom is easily the best thing they ever did together, and Gas might be the best 30 minutes of them all, although I could name at least half a dozen other episodes that I would argue were equally as good (a good few from that first series). I can also remember me and my mates taping then watching all the episodes over and over again at the time, Bottom/Vic & Bob/The Day Today (amongst others) effectively provided the backdrop to my formative years of boozing and carousing, and even now are referenced/quoted on our drunken get-togethers. Just drives home how sad it was that Richie had to depart to the great 'Lamb and Flag' in the sky.
