http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/barnsley/8233963.stm </p><p class="first">Barnsley have asked to speak to Rotherham manager Mark Robins over the vacant managerial position at Oakwell, BBC Radio Sheffield understands.</p> The Reds are looking for a new boss following Simon Davey's departure. </p> It is believed that Robins, 39, can be released from his contract if a specific compensation fee is paid by the approaching club. </p> Barnsley are currently bottom of the Championship after picking up just one point from their opening five games. </p> Davey parted company with the Tykes following Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Reading, after two-and-a-half years in charge. </p> Robins took charge of Rotherham, who are second in League Two, in March 2007. </p>
