I think if we had been given a tie we a had a real good chance of winning, it would have been more of a distraction, thinking of Wembley etc.

Players are probably no different to fans, and realise getting to Wembley is a distant pipe-dream now.

    Whatever a pipe-dream is?

Hmm. Things happen for a reason. I'm still astonished how many people would accept relegation in favour of the Cup

I can understand fans would want a cup final over staying up, definitely. But a semi-final, nah, we've had that. Staying up is the the overwhelming priority now that the draw means we are very unlikely to visit Wembley again once, never mind twice.

Me too. The league wins every time for me.

I've said it before in another thread but really think it needs saying again- 100 years ago we won the FA cup and we're still talking about it.. I bet there are very few people who remember if we did or didn't stay in the league 100 years ago.

With the squad we've got we would have a great chance of coming back up and even if we didn't promotion/relegation is always cyclical so we would sooner or later.. An FA cup on the other hand...

Thing is, we've no chance of actually winning the FA Cup these days. None at all.

    1- it's only 3 games
2- the question is if you could CHOOSE between winning the FA cup and staying up.. So regardless of our chances it's what you would choose if it were a sure thing.

Winning the FA Cup obviously, but we never will. So equally obviously (in reality) staying up.

Flicker is going to have a job on keeping the players minds on the Bolton game a week before a trip to Man City.
