Being off for day Sunday, got to thinking about the predicament Barnsley are in. It dawned on me that it is mainly the fixture list giving us all the promotion candidates. Two players off and then up against these teams has knocked our confidence. Watford on Saturday would have beaten most teams because they played really good football. Our team tried to put it together but were chasing shadows. Then we had bad luck with the blank header and on another day might have got a couple more goals. We changed it at half time and performed better.
The question is are we good enough for the lower teams and the Wendies. If we get Pedersen, Nyatanga , and get the super subs buzzing we could turn it around. A man like Flicker will be hurting but he will not throw the towel in. He has to go in this week and pick his players back up and get ready for another hard match at Leicester, then Reading , QPR. You have to have character to tackle that programme. Then we start playing teams we can beat, and this is when we will be able to judge our fortunes.
Until then lads we should lay off the team and Manager, because it will not help reading some of the comments being said on here. Make no mistake they will read them.

I like optimism and think (in your post) you have it in bundles.

My stance is that the REDS were shocking versus Watford, both in performance, tactics and character.

Playing staff and coaching staff need reminding, that as fans, we are entitled to an opinion. We are, in the majority, fair people. Look at last season, we faced adversity and the fan base turned out in numbers and were vocal and excellent. This season, the team and tactics has been woeful and I firmly believe we have a right to voice our thoughts, whether these are good or bad. At the minute! it's bad, very bad.......but we can turn it round.......last season is a classic example.

Watford were a very good side when we beat them last season, so were Hull. We have it in us to sort this mess out but Flicker has to stop with the mental tactics, formations and team selections and go back to what we did so well last season.

I'm not sure what you are saying, it sounds like we should expect to lose at home by 4 goals to sides like Watford and Wigan, ignore what is actually happening on the pitch and just clap. I'm not one for booing or shouting abuse at players but I'd rather see people stay and boo than start walking out at half time, because some of those people aren't coming back

ben must be very worried right now. his strategy has been to put a product out on the pitch, that people want to watch. he must be $hitting it

All plausible apart from the fact that last season - second half - we were performing well against the top teams. For 20 mins at the start of the second half we gave glimpses of how we should be playing - thats my biggest problem - had we played like that at Bournemouth for example we could easily have come away with points.

Last season I watched us play at home to Leeds and suddenly I had a side I wanted to watch again - playing fast attacking football, closing the opposition down ( Just like Watford did to us on Sat) and Charlton and Bristol apart we were pretty successful at it.

This season we have gone back to a much slower and more defensive gameplan - its not good to watch and it isnt getting results. Flicker needs to adapt and quickly

We were down to 10 men with Wigan -and Blackburn. We should have had a point at Blackpool, we should have beat Charlton. We nearly got a point at Notts. If.... We had we would be half way up table on 8 points.
Lets see what happens with Reading, Leicester and QPR. Funny things happen in football.

we should should and should have BUT DIDNT

we are second bottom with the worst defence in football league for a reason
if you work of shoulds and shouldnts we could be in premier league right now
you have to work off form..and even performances
we have played and done everything asked afew times and still lost .. weve got thumped home and away....lets be honest we have looked second best most games if not all

our defence is terrible yet we have more defenders on books than ever so were do we go with that??

i like flicker infact im a fan... BUT im a realist and listing what could and should have happened is pointless
and if flicker has the same attitude we will be down by january
he needs help or thats what id like but lets face it we havent the money to be doing that
and flickers only on a rolling contract so....
