Very frustrating afternoon. First half we started brightly. Crowley scored from a rebound but was disallowed for offside for the first effort. Went close with a free kick not long afterwards which landed on the top of the net. Then the penalty incident. It was a hopefull ball forward which watkins didn't give up and just got a touch of the ball in the area before the goalkeeper took him clean out. Scowen slotted the penalty home sending the keeper the wrong way. After that southend got into the game and the equaliser came when the ball was layed off at the edge of the box and was struck into the bottom corner. The second goal was a cross into the box which took a slight deflection which caused Davies to change his direction slightly and he palmed the ball to the back post for the tap in. After that tempers flared up between both sets of players and both managers. The referee lost control of the game. The second half we huffed and puffed but didn't really create much. Losing watkins after a couple of minutes in the 2nd half didn't help matters. Johnson brought on Jackson, winnall and Harris for watkins, smith and wabara. Neither of the subs really got into the game. At the end of the game the players looked frustrated and rightly so. Hopefully better Tuesday night
