    Well, he did go on to score 12 goals for em that season including the winner in the playoff final earning West Ham millions and a Premier League place. Whereas we hardly won a game that year.

    Nonsense. If they'd have known he was going to score 12 in 18 and get them promoted they'd have been willing to pay £15m+ so I don't see how 500 grand can be a bad deal.
