I used to go into games hoping for, and sometimes expecting 3 points. Goals were a given too. But over the last 4 months, I began to just hope for perhaps a goal. Then a 0-0 draw became my hope. And for the last few weeks, I have now SERIOUSLY attended games just hoping to see A SHOT ON TARGET... Yesterday was a new low in my expectation levels - I prayed for just a shot. Off target or whatever, I didnt care. In fact, along with the lads I sit with in the Ponty, we now cheer a shot or a cross as a normal fan would appreciate a goal. So well done to Keith, Don and everyone at the club - you have convinced me that yes, we are *****, skint, cant compete and we're over-achieving. I will attend the Brighton game, and start cheering every pass... set the bar low, its the future
Maybe it would be better all round if we when down.....and put us out of our misery, then at least we may we may see some attacking momentum in the opposing half next season.....and also the club couldn't hold the....where punching above our weight...gun to the fans heads...
dont kid yersen about the attacking momentum, this lot couldnt compete in league 1 either,.............................as for whiteys comments, that how myself and everyone around me feels, also sat in the ponty.
the squad assembled at present is a mid table league 1 side, you only have to look at our form over the past 4 months to see that
Its really not so long ago - first half of the season once August was out of the way the buzz was back and we seemed to be playing a will will try and score more goals than them approach Then January came and went and instead of trying to play the same game but without the players we switched to trying to stop the opposition scoring unfortunately still without the players. I cant help thinking with a bit more spirit and adventure we would have limped past 50 points and not had quite so many depressed fans
Tend to agree - it's fine to be more negative against top sides like West Ham or Blackpool, who we can't really compete with in terms of football, but surely we should have gone out to get 3 points at the likes of Coventry and Palace. A more positive approach would have seen us safe by now...
