Who was it that he tw@tted on the team coach that got him the sack? It was in Mel's time. John someone?
RE: Remember that bullett of a goal.. Sunderland, and he was only playing due to our defence being decimated by injuries and suspensions. Slightly wind-assisted but I wasn't complaining at the time! I remember Sunderland were absolutely shambolic. They brought on Dominic Matteo near the end and it later turned out that he was ineligible to play!
God I'd forgotten that an all.. one thing I do remember about that match is the East Stand lifting in the wind!!
wrong way round Shotton objected to Deehan taking missis on team coach cos Mel machin had banned Players wives/mississes from team coach. Deehan was on the coaching staff then, Shotton wasn't.When Shotton objected, Deehan took exception a I believe a @scuffle' ensued resulting in Shotton leaving the club.
RE: Remember that bullett of a goal.. remember it well, friday neet game, and it was windy as hell, didnt some people in the east stand upper complain they could feel the stand moving?
IT DID MOVE!! I first felt it in the first half and no-one else did. By end of second half loads of people had gone because of the stand moving in the wind Told afterwards that wind was gusting at 95mph and stand was built to with stand 110 or summat!!
RE: IT DID MOVE!! thought so.i bought the end of season video and shottons wind assisted blockbuster aint on it,too fast for the camera i suppose
If it was me... I would not have messed with Mal Shotton... And people say that players we have today are hard...
RE: If it was me... what is he up to now?last i heard he was coaching at leeds, but dont know if thats still the case, could do with him and big winnie back down at oakwell.
