Leeds didn't field an ineligible player

They had 5 loan players in the squad when you're only allowed 4, but the 5th didn't play.

2 things

1. Different competitions and different governing bodies - one administered by the Football Association and the other by the Football League.

2. Bury won their game and have, effectively, had their result overturned. Leeds lost their game - the question would be that had they won then would they have been deducted those 3 points.

RE: 2 things....n another

what if....big un i know, leeds stay up by say virtue of 1 or 2 goal difference?
the then said relegated team could argue that by playing the extra man could have stopped another goal or 2?
makes you think eh?
or makes you think we aint a clue on guidelines for punishment no matter what comp!

there's something wrong with the version of the board

Other boards using the same version are having the same problems with things appearing in the wrong place etc.

That doesn't help at all but at least it shows that it's nothing site admin have done to cause it (apart from upgrade) and that theres probably very little they can do to mend it at the moment.

remember middlesboro gerrin docked points for not showing up....

Vs Blacburn a few years backwhich contributed to their relegation...you cannot tell me Leeds were unaware of the rules

well when Middleboro flouted the rules several year ago

their squad was ravaged with some ailment..Flu I think, so they asked the FA if they could postpone a match against Blackburn, the FA refused this request and ordered the game to go ahead.Boro just did not even turn up, Blackburn were awarded 3 points and a 3 - 0 win and Boro had 3 points deducted as well as having a chance of a game to grab 3 pts and also 3 goals chalked against them and a fine too, Boro went down..... Therfore Leeds having Flouted the rules openly should have at least the same thing...they lost the game so thats 3 points gone ,they should also be deducted 3points too. Bury a low league unfashionable club.. Boro were not in the "IN" crowd at the time they transgressed, however Leeds are still living on the Revvie years legacy reputation wise and thereby get away wi it...double standards from the FA and its aint the first time is it.

"Double standards from the FA"?

Except that what Leeds did was in the Football League and not governed by the FA.

FA Premier League - FA
FA Cup - FA
Championship/League 1/League 2 - Football League
Carling (League) Cup - Football League
