Why don't you have one on here? so many spring up on similar subjects. I realise the hypocrisy of starting a new thread about it.
I don't mind new threads if they contribute something different, but the majority are pointless and annoying.
Easy to sort, get the admin to start a match thread about an hour before kick off and stick to it. People will soon get bored if they start new threads that don't get replies.
This one and the Leyton Orient one are the only football forums I've seen that doesn't have a match thread.
Yep. Sorry your the dale fan. Just realised. But seriously it was tried once and it got a slating when all threads started getting moved and merged.
Start one, let the others appear and don't bother merging them. People will soon get used to posting in one.
If people could exercise some control instead of spouting **** into a new thread it wouldn't be so bad.
Why do you think it suffers? Don't you think it is more natural to have it like this rather than forcing everyone to put anything to do with a match in the one thread even if it isn't really anything to do with the other posts in that thread? If a group of men in a pub are talking about women and another group at the other side of the pub are also talking about women it doesn't mean that they're having one conversation and it would be crazy to usher both groups of men together and tell them they must now talk in one conversation rather than two.
They may be but you still wouldn't shove them together and tell them to have the conversation together. Or at least I've never once been in a bar where the landlord has done that.
The problem is, there isn't just two groups of men, there's about 30 over the course of 90 minutes and the conversations last only a couple of replies. Interesting conversations get lost because of the shear volume.
