To go there under that pressure and in these circumstances after the disappointment of last week - simply awesome. And some major major balls shown, especially to come from a goal down. Top marks to the players and to Hecky and Tommy, but as an aside, I have a feeling that we owe an awful lot to Ben Mansford.
Yep, today is up there in my estimation. Top performance under a lot of pressure and our fans support was immense. Great day
I was driving home from B&Q and flipped 5 live on told me we had gone 1 down... I thought " Well that's that then" switched off the radio Pulled up on the drive switched on again to see if owt had happened the announcer said summat like " a goal at the DW".. I thought 'oh no its gonna be a rout... " A second goal to Barnsley" ... I then went bouncing around our drive..front garden... the street... Wife , neighbours doing gardening, car washing, DIY .... thowt I was having a stroke or summat... LOL... "their doing it ... THEY ONLY BLOODY DOING IT" I exulted... my neighbour across the road (also ex RAF and from Chesterfield) "Barnsley are winning then" he had a huge grin on his face... all I said or rather shouted was " COME ON YOOOO BEEYOOTIFULLL REDDZZZ".... he simply replied " a bottle of red tonight then ??" and despite medical advise BLOODY HELL YES and THRICE YES.
Re: I was driving home from B&Q and flipped 5 live on lol, glad you enjoyed. I was sitting in the ground at 3-1 thinking. "It's never this simple, never ever." At 4-1 I still wasn't comfortable til it got to about 85 minutes. But we were superb. As soon as we started pressing them high we controlled it. Took them out of their comfort zone. When we do that we're class.
Re: I was driving home from B&Q and flipped 5 live on You know, although we dominated the game, I never feel comfortable. I was sat there watching the clock at 4-1 thinking, "they've got to score 2 in 3 minutes before we get nervous, stop fretting". But all I could think of was the Ipswich game at home from years ago.
At 4 1 I was just worried that those ***** Blunts would capitulate and cocede another 2 or 3 and we would miss out on goal difference
Re: I was driving home from B&Q and flipped 5 live on Our best form, and best displays, come when the front two and the wingers press them back. Relies a hell of a lot on stamina. It's why Marley makes such a difference up front as he chases and pressures everything. Although Fletch is doing bloody fine right now as well!
Re: I was driving home from B&Q and flipped 5 live on It was Fletch's work rate which got us back into the game today..he had a great first half...when we were being given the run around by a spirited Wigan side..
