    Quite ok really. He has experience at far higher levels and worked under Fergie for long enough to have learnt something.
    Other fav is Malky McKay the ex Cardiff boss who has an unsavoury history. The others in the frame are the usual suspects.
    I only hope if he was appointed he does not consider the job as a dawdle. He would soon be found out.

    Went on a work trip about 5 years later to a supplier near Amsterdam and they gave all their visitors a branded umbrella. They then called me the wally with the brolly for the next 2 days because I was English and they’d seen the headlines from after that game.

    Thing is mate he will not be expected to beat Rangers or Celtic. Even Aberdeen and Hibs will be difficult but it would be expected of him to put out a team to beat the likes of Hamilton, Motherwell, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone who we have had problems with before under other managers. Last year Neilson couldn’t put a team out to beat Arbroath and Alloa at home and struggled against the likes of Ayr and QotS. He was a bottler.
    If McLaren got the gig I’d expect better team performances from him. I mean how much would he need to get us to 6th or 7th in the league on our first season back?
