How did we let an otherwise anonymous centre forward have a free header from about eight yards in front of goal?

Mads and Bobby Thomas were both yards away from him and he was the only threat.

Oh well, suppose it gives something to work on when they watch the video back tomorrow.

It was a good header to be fair. Shouldn’t have had that much space, but he buried it

My little whinge/ query was I thought the first 2 subs were a little early. We seemed to lose a bit of momentum when Cole And Norwood went off. Would’ve liked another 10 minutes out of them, but who Am I to to question Duff eh?

It was a good cross in and an ever better header to be fair to them.

To say he was their danger man, he was largely anonymous all match apart from that header plus throwing himself to the ground and then complaining to the referee like a petulant child.

3-1, confident that the game was won, big game coming Saturday. Rest them up.

    In Duff we trust.

It's a regular ploy at the moment. Cole and Norwood are expected to run their nads off for 60-70 minutes then be replaced.
It must be hell for the opposition defenders.
Trouble is I don't easily see where we're going to score once they go off.

I can only think Duff thought the game was won. And is saving legs so to speak for saturday and the amount of games coming up fast.

My little whinge is at Tedic. Too busy trying to 'buy' fouls and nowhere near winning anything in the air despite his size.

Considering we've signed Shaw to a 3 year deal, I'd honestly prefer to give him these little cameos at the end rather than Tedic. If anything, it's causing us to be put under more pressure. He does press quite well, which his the only thing I think he's got going for him at the minute.

I agree Mr Badger. Barring us making a couple of mistakes and letting them back in, the game was over last night so I understand why he took them off to protect them for Saturday. But we need to resolve the conundrum of lacking a threat when we do so. I don't think it helps taking Kane off either as we don't retain possession as well in the opposition half when he's subbed. The balance of the game often seems to change with those substitutions and it becomes more about keeping what we've got than building on it.
A bit churlish given our recent form but something to work on for me....

I guess Duff would leave them both on for 90 minutes if we needed to score.

Btw on Kane - how good was that turn in the first half when he lost 3/4 of their players to set us on an attack.

Was just hoping that Watters and Tedic would get one as a reward for patience. By the time they get on we are in game control mode.
