What are our early fancies, lads and lasses? Lots of 'shorties' around at this stage - many of which may be longer on the day (although Bet365 are offering NRNB odds and BOG on all races). Two I'd be keen on at this stage are Dinoblue (5/2, Mares' Novice Hurdle, Thursday) and Bob And Co (8/1 with Skynobet, 7/1 general, Hunter Chase, Friday). The former won by 15 lengths on debut at Clonmel from another Mullins horse in second. She won easily and surely has any amount of improvement in hand. Bob And Co looks to be the preferred of three entries for Paul Nicholls and owner/rider Mr David Maxwell in the race. Trained specifically for this race, and the Punchestown equivalent in April (which he won last year).
Jonbon in the first race of the meeting has looked very impressive but so have the 3 other main contenders. There is not much form of a good standard to go on in this novice hurdle but it’s always good to get an early winner and he’s the one for me
The Supreme is a cracking race. I just prefer Constitution Hill myself, but Jonbon is a big danger, as are Wille Mullins' selected for the race.
ITV7 is free to enter each day, and the Jackpot rises to £500K on the Friday. That said, getting one winner at Cheltenham is hard enough, let alone seven!
Can't wait for next week. Had a fair few ante post tickles - some are long gone (Ferny Hollow FFS), some are very much in play (Bravemansgame, Journey With Me). I think a lot of the fancied horses are just about the right price now - so I won't be playing until the day of races but I would he against Jonbon, Energumene, Facile Vega, Edwardstone, Concertista and A Plus Tard. There'll be lots of bookies offers on the day - usually there's a money back if your horse finishes 2nd etc, or faller insurance. Keep an eye out for those.
I'll be like that annoying **** who says "I had that", "Oh I had that too". Unless I can get some readies together it will be a watching brief for Aintree, Punchestown and to a lesser degree Galway. Pissed off with Liverpool they let me down for £86 last night. All they had to do was score to get me £58 of that. Scouse tw@ts.
I had a bit on Facile Vega at 10's on Christmas Day morning - ahead of his debut on Boxing Day. Happy enough with that, although I wouldn't discount Gordon Elliot's horse. I'd be with Edwardstone as well, although the price is short enough at the moment. As regards the offers, got to say I largely ignore them. They are a distraction, and designed to tempt you in to races and selections you wouldn't otherwise bet on. Happy enough with 365's BOG.
Fair points. The horses I've mentioned that I'm against are based on current prices - I'll gladly take the 10s on Facile off your hands if you like! I generally use any offers just for a bit of interest on the day - I sadly don't get BOG any more from 365 or Hills, the £437 profit I've made since October is clearly too much for them! What's your best ante post position Orsen? I'm on Bravemans at 25s (placed last March!) And Journey With Me for the Ballymore at 16s and 12s. I also have Hollow Games at 50s for the Bartlett, but he seems to be Martin Pipe bound now. I had Ferny Hollow at 20s also, so was mortified when he came out the other week. Laughably, I have an accumulator that includes Jonbon at 7/4 in the Supreme!
It's a free game I believe Helen - like the Super 6. You have to pick the winner of the 7 designated races.
