Just lost a few files to a laptop crash andI was wondering if anyoneuses these online file storage facilities. I've found recently that the quickest way totransfer files from one pc to another is to mail them to myself so that's one option - open a seperate mail account just to store artwork but it'd be nice if you could just store with a couple of clicks as you go along without having to save first.

    Anyone?

Online storage - not used it myself but know a couple of folk who swear by it .... it's more secure now than ever (allegedly). I personally use a USB drive or two. Important files are COPIED to one drive; the whole laptop is backed up regularly to the 2nd (larger capacity) USB drive.

Not sure I really trust online storage, how secure it is (certainly wouldn't put any personal info on there) and what comeback you have if it does get lost.
Can buy high capacity external drives for under £100, I've got one and keep copies of stuff I wouldn't want to lose on there.

It's okay keeping backups on external drives, but if you keep these in your home and it goes up in flames - It's all gone.

For personal stuff like photo's etc.. make 2 DVD copies - Keep one at home and the other leave at your parents.
