when asked about Bobby hassell. he said he was happy with Wiseman. To be honest Im not Bobby Hassell biggest fan and I thought this was the season he probably needed replacing, but by a better player. From what I have seen of wiseman he does't look as good as bobby and certainly not as comfortable on the ball under pressure. Im not saying wiseman wont improve, but he as never played in the championship and in my opinion he should have been given tim eto settle in maybe coming on as sub for bobby.
I found that part very defensive, to be honest, and somewhat out of character with the rest of the interview. The body language and tone was almost as if he's digging his heels in on this, because people are shouting for Hassell in the team. I sincerely hope he selects his team on merit for every game - if this turns out to be Wiseman then so be it, but not if he's pre-judging the issue. Time will tell (and in fairness, Hassell didn't do himself any favours in the Morecambe game). However, he has been undoubtedly one of the most consistent performers over the last few years, hence is popularity.
I agree with hoping the team will be picked on merit, but if it is the first casualties would have to be Jay McEveley (replaced by Sir Bobby) and David Perkins (replaced by Vas Te maybe), IMHO
i agree with you about wiseman mate but to be fair its been hard for him when he receives slow sloppy balls from our two centre backs by the time he receives them theres someone on him and theres no one to pass to apart from backwards. when he does get forward he looks to the box and theres no one there so he goes backwards or inside just to keep the ball unlike mceveley who just pumps into the box for the sake of it which would be ok if we had some bodys in there lol
