    Middlesborough is in Yorkshire .........

    It is historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, but in 1974 became part of the new non-metropolitan county of Cleveland. In 1996 Cleveland was abolished, and Middlesbrough became a unitary authority, though it remained part of the North Yorkshire ceremonial county.

    So, I wonder if most good Boro burghers consider themselves proud Yorkshire folk or revel in their independent unitary authority status. "What do we want? Independent unitary authority status! When do we want it?" etc.

    Scnuthorpe and Mansfield could still be in - wouldn't change the number of Yorkshire teams in it!
