Now , everyone is in tears because he is out for a month! I happen to think he is probably OUR best player, others disagree fair enough, but I am sure that someone else will now step up and become the goal creator. I think we need to start and become more potent from open play, rather than rely on Houriane`s deadball skills. Now is the perfect time for that to happen.
Someone else will certainly have to step up to the plate. No matter what, I still believe we'll miss him.
It does need someone the other end to put these crosses away. It's not as though he's scoring himself. You need organisation in the box and set piece rehearsals for a goal to be scored. Yet no matter what, CH gets all the credit for these goals. As though the scorer just stands there and that's it - goal. Which is ******.
His haters will see in the next month how much we miss him. For his age he's ahead of Buttercup was at the same age. Danny Wilson found a great player. We are well and truely foooooooked.
Yet you have always seemed to think anyone could do the job of Houriane with the set pieces! So how come no-one else has done ? You dont gine him any credit for getting the deliveryu right time after time after time, yet he does it. So somewhere along the way he must either be very lucky with it or he is bloody good at it? I am not taking anythging away from the scorers at all in this either. They have an easier job when they know the ball is actually going to end up in the place it should be , 9 times out of 10 anyway. they have got the confidence to get there and know the ball is coming to them, instead of just hoping it will ! Or maybe Houriane is lucky , we will soon find out.
He is obviously often good at putting the ball in the box. But to acquire almost sainthood - and our being a one man team - for this, is ridiculous. Plus he is by no means reliable - I've seen many fall short or sail way over. Half the time it is nowhere near threatening. The other half it goes where it should. And it's made better by the efforts of those who have been practising for when it comes in. When it's right the delivery is special.
Conor Hourihane is 25 in February. Jacob Butterfield was 25 this summer. What the **** are you on about?
Now that really is tosh. Firstly nobody hates him. Secondly he is not ahead of JB at the same age, and finally he will never get anywhere near JB in terms of career. He does not have the same talent.
No, because at 24 Butterfield was POTY at a Champ club and earning a £6m move to a massive club. Conor, as much as I love him, is playing okay in a struggling third division side. No idea what Dreamy is smoking, but he should pass it over here.
One good foot is enough to make a comparitive fortune these days BobT. And make some believe that you're the "one" in a one man team. In League 1.
Personally, I think without Hourihane we are screwed. So many of our goals come from his set pieces and his passing. Having said that, I predicted relegation even with Hourihane in the side, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. Although I don't think losing Hourihane for a month is our biggest problem. I think it's that far too many people, including our manager, believe our players are a hell of a lot better than they actually are. Many of them might mature in to good players, but right now they're really not.
He is nowhere near JB (nor will he ever be - although they seem to share the same attitude of insolence towards the opposing team on the pitch which is wonderful to observe). Families eh? CH is at least a division below JB.
I love watching Hourihane. I think he's the best midfielder since Butterfield. No interest in comparing them, but they're two players I've loved watching for BFC. I just found Dreamy's comment about age quite bizarre. He's not responded so the wacky backy must have took its toll.
Is he ****. Butterfield is only a year older than him. Should have read down a bit. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks like that. Crazy talk.
Said at the start that Crowley was too greedy and wants to do it all. It's the Arsenal way. Another pointless loan signing as good as he may be in5 years time. Still think 4-4-2 with proper wide men and Smith and Winnall would walk this league.
