You'd be better off scoring 50 and letting in 40 than scoring 90 and letting in 76, yet these days you'd be worse off on goal difference and goals scored.

Stoke played their last match a week after ours and knew that a 3-0 win would get them promotion instead of us. I can only imagine what it was like when the news came through that Stoke had won 3-0 and we missed out on promotion by 1 goal We also missed 3 penalties that season
