the fans have told him,the media has told him,the manager has told him...WE NEED A STRIKER. He has done nowt but hamper proceedings with all this bairning about money... we had far more clear cut open goal chances to beat six teams today...but not one guy capable of hitting the proverbial cows arse with a banjo.I was more than impressed with the performance , the lads were fantastic....but they were let down by a short sighted chairman who cannot...or will not pay the required fee for a proven striker who will keep us in this league by giving the killer touch...great performances are ok , but if we cannot finish then these great efforts amount to nothing....... except the alehouse league again.
Shocking post since Mr Sheperd became chairman just think for a minute how far we have come and it's not been done by throwing money about.
and for a ha'porth of tar we are prepared to sink the ship and if we do not investv..and ..soon, then all that progress will amount to nothing.
RE: and for a ha'porth of tar we are prepared to sink the ship well take your money down to oakwell and I'm sure that they'll spend it on your behalf with the purchase of a striker.
if you you cannot face facts guys then don't read them..we are nowhere without a striker and at present we have none...and for once read things before jumping in'Today the players were excellent and gave their absolute all.first 20 mins we were naive and sluggish..but remarkably we learned fast and in the end were the only team on the pitch. I was tremendously impressed and upbeat coming home. But I face facts, and we need a striker..and from what is said in the media and here and other outlets I am of the opinion that we are being dreadfully restained by a chairman pulling the purse strings too tight..I applaud prudence and do not want administration ever again..but we simply must make some reasonable investment in the goal scoring department
And re strikers , happen Paul D could dig out the number of goals scored in our promotion run, 1) by strikers 2) by midfield, if my memory serves me right we got a fair few from midfield. But this does not mean I disagree with you, we do need an experienced front man.
RE: will try sir....but I hope its addressed sooner than later If AR has identified a striker he would like to sign and has been refused funds I am not aware of it.I admire Andy's commitment to the players that got us up last season. Giving them their chance to step up is a sign of loyalty I applaud.Don't start screaming panic after one game. It's Piss easy to spend shedloads of money one players who may be no better than what we've got
bit harsh baz, first game of the season tha knows how do you know he's refusing to spend the dosh on a striker? maybe the right one is not available at the moment.</p>
do you know it is Shepherd stopping us buying any? or is it that none of the strikers we have targetted wanted to come?
