Opinion seems to be turning...

against Andy Ritchie.

I'll tell you what though - I don't know what the truth is about all this - whether it's all Ritchie's fault for not signing players or whether the ones he wanted were beyond our reach in terms of price or wages but .....I'm just disgusted with the way this has been handled.

The messages coming out of the club from the Chairman in recent weeks leave a lot to be desired imho. In the space of a few short weeks:
"There's no need to talk about a new contract yet" to
"We don't want Wednesday to have him." to
"We want to sort out a new contract." to
"Contract talks are on hold and we're unhappy with him" to
"We've sacked him."

From my viewpoint this suggests a naiviety about handling the media AND some issues around his man management style. I'm really struggling to see why this couldn't be resolved - if it had been kept inside the club.

Of course actions will be taken in the next few days to try to repair the damage but in my book the failure is that they coudln't be worked through with the manager. Sacking him is an admission someone didn't have the ability to find a solution working with him. Instead we took the easy we out and got on the sacking merry go round again.

Deeply, deeply disappointed in my club tonight.

Could have been going on since last year? Who knows.</p>

 

I can't say for certain, I don't know how we'd have got on over the next few games but ....I disagree with the decision because it shouldn't have come to this. It's just rank man management imo.

I respect others opinion if they think he had to go and I'm not one for saying they've lost my support as a result - I'll be there supporting the team but the way we have done this is sunday league not championship!

Agreed but if that's the case why on earth make the comments that were made less than a month ago!

That people cant state is if fact that this is bad man management. Bad PR granted. But what has being going on behind the scenes and for how long?

cos I just can't believe this couldn't be resolved behind the scenes. A good man manager resolves problems and gets the best out of people.
