Pathetic tactic. At man utd I thought we'd cottoned on. 2 up front 3 defenders back.. v Mighty Wycombe and other league one sdes 11 back. nearest to their goal Jalo on our centre spot. 0 opposition defenders back. All up front. With 2 on edge of area. One 35 yds from goal. Led to their 2nd goal. Boils my p155.
Boils mine too especially when you've got a small nippy player on the pitch. Absolutely no use at all defending a corner but a brilliant opportunity for a break away so why the hell keep them back. Well we know the answer, it's because football is coached based on statistics these days not on real life.
Our last few coaches have all done the same. I hate the tactic, it beggars belief that out of a packed penalty area, often it is opposition players who find room and time on the ball.
