Any tips for Curragh today?

 

Aye. Back the clear favourite. That's his usual tip.

 

As someone who has won money thanks to Orsen I can tell you that isn't true. And even if it was, he is picking the winner, if that's the favourite then cest la vie.

 

Aye winners are winners no matter what the price.

 

Profit turned, no matter what the odds.

 

Thats the name of the game and to do it consistently.

 

I don't bet that often so couldn't care less. Was just sticking my neb in.

Won a fair lump yesterday and normally stay away turf accountant in the after math of a decent so as not to give it um back and greedy betting more then I normally would but today I'm have two big Ish bets

First race utox Dakar Run 2/1

Rotherham to be promoted 8/11

And doubled

 

Do us a favour, what odds can you get for Dagnall to score the winner today?

 

7/1 with ladbrokes and coral to score the last goal

 

15/2 with Bet 365 and Paddy Power.

 

When's kick off?

Just a word about picking favourites, first. You can check out the %age of winning favorites at tracks in the Racing Post. You'll find that blindly backing them is not profitable - so there's some judgment involved in weeding out the false ones.

Take Lightning Thunder in the Curragh 3.55 (Irish 1,000 Guineas) for example. The going there today bears no resemblance to that when she was a fast-finishing second in the English 1,000 at Newmarket. So I'm happy to take her on by backing both PALACE (11/2) and VOTE OFTEN (6/1), both of whom have abundant promise and will not mind the going. That's at least 9/4 combined if either filly wins.

 

I've got Vote Often in an acca. 2nd, 1st and 1st so far at Curragh. Had a few accas, all still live with 1st at Fontwell and two 2nds at Uttoxeter.

 

Another 1st at Curragh, Noble Mission.

 

Disappointing. I rather fancied those two - Olympic Glory (Long champs) and Magician even more so. Have managed some recompense with Great Minds and Thomas's Edison at the Curragh, but wasn't confident enough to put those up on here. Hope this rain stops before Royal Ascot!

 

I just need Forget and Forgive to place in the 5.20 at Uttoxeter for a reasonable return.
