I suppose I will have to resort to self tappers as usual.

By the way, what's the difference between a bolt and a screw?

Re: I've got tears in my eyes....

the thread on a screw goes all the way to the head, whilst it doesnt on a bolt.

Thats how sad I am, I apologise for that.

if you want any other useless information, I also cover carbon brushes, fuses, lamps, bearings, chain, seals, gloves, or any other ***** bit of equipment used on a steelworks

you may be sad but your completly wrong.

the thread on some screws dont go all the way up.
    the difference
you put screws in via a recess in the head be it slotted, countersunk, phillips or any of the other vast array of screws. with a screwdriver.

a bolt cannot be put in via a screwdriver.you use a ratchet spanner or a spanner. let me know next time your bolting with a screw driver i fancy a good laugh.
