She did go reasonably easy on him but he seemed confident, handled the awkward stuff without being evasive and generally came across as a decent guy. His background also suggests he has far more in common with the ordinary people.

No way that Sunak, however competent (or not) given his background can ever relate fully to the people he is supposed to represent. and therin lies the insurmountable problem.
And for balance, Starmer, to a lesser degree has the same problem to overcome, if indeed he can.
