My son plays for Dodworth MW U12s and today along with a few other parents we took the opportunity of a free box at the arena to take our kids and watch them. Not a sport i have ever considered but must say we all really enjoyed it and would certainly go again. Downside was a hour long game took over 2 hours to finish with stoppages and breaks between periods but a bar in the box smoothed it over
It's an absolutely brilliant sport. I watched a game in Sweden, and I loved it. 7000 turned up on a Thursday night, and it was a lot of fun. Fast and violent, like a hyper version of football. I would love to watch it over here, but I refuse to follow a deedar team, and I am not about to to travel to Nottingham or Leicester, either.
I have went along to see the Dundee Stars. Found it good entertainment for a couple of hours. Ticket cost £18. The hardcore supporters really get into it and give it their all.Good to see and no trouble. Unfortunately the Ice Arena is on the Western outskirts of Dundee with no pubs in the area or decent bus service meaning I have to take the car and not participate in a social drink.
Yes, I used to be a SSN ticket holder but work commitments meant I couldn't hold a BFC & SS one. Lad played for the Juniors and I chaired the junior board. Still have friends who played and play for em. Great sport and a good evenings entertainment.
