    Hi everyone,

I'm more of a reader than a poster and have been reading the BBS for a long long time now, by and large the majority of posters are great, several of which I look out for, not because I know them, but because I always find their views interesting. With every community there is always bad uns, there is one user on here who I've seen promote violence on a few occasions and another user who was openly racist a while ago, both of them have made thousands of posts and still post every week despite their actions. In addition to this I've not enjoyed the BBS anywhere as much as I used to over the past 6 months, there seems to be a divide in its community with one side wanting to give the club time and the other wanting results right away, which is to be expected in football, but recently this divide as been getting uglier and uglier with open debates turning into personal arguments.

Can anyone else recommend any other forums? I've seen the Barnsley mad one, but there's way too many adverts on there, so not for me.

    Thanks.

Personally speaking, I enjoy your contributions infrequent though they may be.
However, if Tykesmad isn't your cup of tea, then there's another site called TykeTalk.

If you can't stand the heat don't go in the Kitchen!

Used to be Fanny Craddock who was the moderator and it was all about how many Buns you get in one Oven.

I think having looked at them briefly that all the forums have similar divides. Agree about the racism though.

If you think this forum has some funny posters then don't go to Barnsley Mad, I was there and there are some in that forum that need locking up

You might be better visiting a gardening forum

It's a forum your going to read things you don't agree with

    Like watching the news

I don't agree with racist comments but that doesn't mean I turn the news off when it shows terrorist attacks

There's a big difference between hearing something racist on the news compared to taking part in conversations with people who are racist or promote violence, it tests my morals.

As I said I'm more of a reader than a writer, I have been reading the BBS almost every week for about 8 years, I've only posted a couple of hundred times in that span, so I don't tend to go in the "kitchen" much.

It's a bit like reading your favourite newspaper, which has 15 regular journalist, 10 of them are excellent, 3 are garbage, 1 is racist and the other thinks violence amongst football fans is brilliant, its not a case of if you don't like it then don't both reading, I like the majority of it, but I can't ignore the big white elephants....they post all the time and the ignore list on this forum is pants

Oakweller. I reckon you are mixing your elephant metaphors...

About white elephants: There was a princess in Burma who loved the albino elephants. Out of respect to the Princess the people who had working elephants didn't put the albinos to work and they looked after them as if they were looking after the Princess' elephant. This became tradition. But after decades it became a pain in the arse to have a white elephant 'cos you had to look after it really well and it was of no use to you.... hence the origin of saying ...

I couldn't ignore the elephant in the room, Oakweller. I'm like you, I keep me head down and wear a tin hat... (so to speak)
