Below is the other teams transfers this season so far, as you can see 90% of them have signed quality players with premiership/championship experience and on top of that the players who are all ready at there respective clubs have been playing in the championship for the past few seasons (Southend/Colchester withstanding).
Now look at what we have signed up against the rest of the league, its clearly not good enough.
Barnsley IN: Sam Togwell [from C Palace] Undisclosed (Played in League 1 last year) Michael McIndoe [from Doncaster] Undisclosed (5 games at championship level) Michael Coulson [from Scarborough] Free (never played a football league game)

Birmingham City IN: Bruno N'Gotty [from Bolton] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Cameron Jerome [from Cardiff City] £3m (Corted by Premiership teams, proven championship goalscorer) Stephen Kelly [from Tottenham] £750,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Neil Danns [from Colchester] £500,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
Burnley IN:Alan Mahon [from Wigan] £200,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Andy Gray [from Sunderland] £750,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
Cardiff City IN: Luigi Glombard [from Nantes] Free Kerrea Gilbert [from Arsenal] Loan (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Michael Chopra [from Newcastle] £500,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Stephen McPhail [from Barnsley] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Roger Johnson [from Wycombe] £275,000 Mark Howard [from Arsenal] Free Malvin Kamara [from Milton Keynes Dons] Free Nick McKoy [from Milton Keynes Dons] Free Colchester United IN: Johnnie Jackson [from Tottenham] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
Coventry City IN: Jay Tabb [from Brentford] Undisclosed Colin Cameron [from Wolverhampton] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Elliott Ward [from West Ham] £1 million Mikkel Bischoff [from Manchester City] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Wayne Andrews [from Crystal Palace] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) David McNamee [from Livingston] £100,000 Andy Marshall [from Millwall] Free
Crystal Palace IN: James Scowcroft [from Coventry] £500,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Mark Kennedy [from Wolves] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Scott Flinders [from Barnsley] £1m Leon Cort [from Hull] £1 million plus
Derby County IN: Steve Howard [from Luton] £1m (Proven Championship Striker)
Hull City IN: Michael Turner [from Brentford] £350,000
Ipswich Town IN: none
Leeds United IN: David Livermore [from Millwall] Undisclosed Seb Carole [from Brighton] Free
Leicester City IN: Darren Kenton [from Southampton] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Andy Johnson [from West Brom] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Josh Low [from Northampton] Free Gareth McAuley [from Lincoln] Free
Luton Town IN: Lewis Emanuel [from Bradford] Free Richard Langley [from QPR] undisclosed
Norwich City IN: none
Plymouth Argyle IN: Sylvan Ebanks-Blake [from Man Utd] £200,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Barry Hayles [from Millwall] £100,000 (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
Preston North End IN: Liam Chilvers [from Colchester] Free Sean St Ledger [from Peterborough] £225,000 Danny Pugh [from Leeds] £250,000 Jason Jarrett [from Norwich] Free Kelvin Wilson [from Notts County] Free
Queens Park Rangers IN: Egutu Oliseh [from La Louviere] Free Nick Ward [from Perth Glory] Free
Sheffield Wednesday IN: Yoann Folly [From Southampton] Undisclosed
Southampton IN: Kelvin Davies [from Sunderland] Undisclosed (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Pele [from Belenenses] Undisclosed Marcelo Sarmiento [from Racing Club de Cordoba] Loan Bradley Wright-Phillips [from Manchester City] Undisclosed (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Jermaine Wright [from Leeds] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Grzegorz Rasiak [from Tottenham] £1m (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
Southend United IN: Michael Ricketts [from Leeds] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Stevie Hammell [from St Mirren] Free Simon Francis [from Sheffield United] Undisclosed Steve Collis [from Yeovil] Free
Stoke City IN: Vincent Pericard [from Portsmouth] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Sunderland IN: Kenny Cunningham [free agent] (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
West Bromwich Albion IN: Pascal Zuberbuhler [from FC Basle] Free John Hartson [from Celtic] Undisclosed (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE) Chris Perry [from Charlton] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)
Wolverhampton Wanderers IN: Guilherme Finkler [from Juventude] Loan Gary Breen [from Sunderland] Free (PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCE)

Fair point. But, if you're using 'Premiership Experience' as a selling point, shouldn't you also be including the minus points, like 'injury prone', 'past it', 'crap and always has been' etc? And calling Howard a proven Championship striker is taking liberties.
RE: And your point being .......? NFT My point being how much stronger the other teams in our division have become, look at burnley for instance a team who used to be very similar to ourselves. The 2 players they have signed this year Andy Gray and Alan Mahon both would walk into our starting line up, both with championship experience. We not even trying to sign players like thease, thats the problem.
Andy Grey is **** on a stick And I would not have him especially for the 700 grand that Burnley spent on him.
Sheff Utd fans were over the moon when they flogged him.

The premier League experience doesn't wash... A lot of them are players that have not made it in the premier league. Jonny Jackson for instance has played about 12 games in the prem. Most of his games have been out on loan in our division.
The players on that list if they had been good enough for the premier league then they would still be there.

RE: Andy Gray Would walk blindfolded into our team, has scored goals at this level consistently and sheff utd fans were only bitter when he left. Ask any one on this board who they would prefer, Andy Gray, Mark Richards or Tommy Wright

RE: The premier League experience doesn't wash... BUT THEY ARE STILL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALITY!!!!!
not league 1 or league 2

Mate's a Blades fan. Said Gray was okay if defenders allowed him to play, but as soon as the going got tough, he disappeared. Neither Wright nor Richards would do that.
For 750 grand? Then ask.
The question should be....
If Barnsley FC had £750,000 to spend on a striker then would you choose Andy Gray?
If the answer is no then who else would you choose instead?

Flinders money £1 million, Morgan and Horsefield. Horsefield cant wait to leave the club, morgan possibly 3rd choice at brammall lane this year.
RE: But No doubt, but as Nutkins says, I wouldn't have paid that much for him regardless of how many he might score.
How can you say these players have premiership experience, when they've never even played a game? Stephen Kelly Neil Danns Johnnie Jackson Mikkel Bischoff Wayne Andrews Darren Kenton Sylvan Ebanks-Blake Kelvin Davies
RE: But even if his goals would keep us up, id rather spend the money on a player who keeps us in the division than not spend it and go down.
Do you know that our players aren't Championship quality? Do you know?
Well do you?
Have we played a game yet?
We can beat on our day most of the sides in the bottom half especially at home. You seem to think that this division has become more difficult than the premier league was 10 years ago. It hasn't. Players have always moved from top division clubs. Clubs like us have always been promoted, not all have been relegated. Its not cut and dried.
Let the players show what they can do before being knocked from pillar to post on here.
